BoxyCharm October 2019 - Review/Photos

Holy Boxy, am I behind. It’s only a little over a month since my last post but I have boxes piling up wanting to explode to be used. This box being for October I was hoping for a spooky or even one product that could be a Halloween vibe. But there is nothing along those lines. That doesn’t mean this box wasn’t a success...a beauty blender sponge? Squeeee!

Iconic London Lip Plumping Gloss in Lovestruck- The high-shine formula is infused with a biomimetic peptide, which helps to support natural collagen production for more defined and voluminous looking lips. I never buy lip plumping products because on the few occasions I have many years ago I did not see any results. But I do enjoy the faint tingling, cool feeling of this gloss. (Do you taste anise/licorice?) I even see a slight difference in my lips. Retails for $26

Illuminati Cosmetics Sponge
- An edgeless, reusable, high-definition cosmetic sponge applicator. I receive so many brushes (not a complaint) but I love cosmetic sponges to apply makeup. I love getting sponges and this one is fantastic! Retails for $21

Touch in Sol Pretty Filter Glassy Skin Balm - This item is the one I picked in customization. I wasn’t sure what to expect from it - the container is much smaller than I imagined, although I still consider a full size product. This ultra-hydrating skin balm has a super smooth texture that melts into your skin like butter(literally). It gives your skin a nice glow and also works as a primer. Retails for $32

Smashbox "Always On" Liquid Eyeliner -  This black liner glides on with ease, is a highly pigmented and waterproof formula that lasts for up to 24 hours. The fine tip is easy-to-control and draws thin to thick lines with a easy to hold handle. Retails for $22

Dose of Colors Blushing Berries Palette - This palette is the essence of matte fall if i've seen one. They blend pretty decently, but wiped off my hand too easily after swatching...It includes 5 colors in the berry/plum family: Retails for $32
    ◦    Berry Chic: Dusty Blush Pink
    ◦    Rose Berry: Brown Rose
    ◦    Berry Pop: Cool Raspberry
    ◦    Mixed Berries: Blackberry
    ◦    Berry Black: Rich Dark Black Color

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus August 2019 - Review/Photos

I had dinner with a friend who was mind blown at my subscription box collection. He wondered how I used all these products in a month...then I burst into laughter. Anyone else have these convo's? Can you imagine if these products expired in a month? ๐Ÿ˜œ

Purlisse Blue Lotus Daily Moisturizer ๐Ÿงด- I've been quite happy with all the products I’ve gotten from Purlisse, in fact, I am in love with their BB cream. It contains vitamin E, white tea, and algae extracts to help prevent fine lines, calm, and soften skin. Because I have really dry skin I tend to prefer night cream and moisturizer; the blue lotus is thinner but does absorb quickly into your skin. I was fascinated to find out that the Blue Lotus extract is an anti-inflammatory antioxidant that helps protect against the sun ☀️ Retails for $45
IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer in Medium - one of my top three products to get in my Ipsy Glam Plus is a foundation. It’s infused with SPF 50 and has full coverage that conceals redness, pores, dark spots, lines, and wrinkles. My first impression was that it seemed small for a foundation. I barely needed any for full coverage. IT Cosmetics products have been growing on me. Retails for $40
SUVA BEAUTY Liquid Chrome Illuminating Drops in Trust Fund - ingredients that come from Italy help make this product water-resistant. Their collection comes in a vast array of shades. My first and final impression...FREAKING GORGEOUS. Strobe, baby, strobe. Retails for $26
F.A.R.A.H BRUSHES 5 Piece Eye Perfection Set - Retails for $32

TARTE Dream Big Eyeshadow Palette - Tartes mini palette includes 8 matte and metallic shades. I’ve pretty much always been a fan of Tarte, but their pallets have been blowing up in these subscription boxes lately. Personally, this one isn’t my cup of tea but it’s a great size to store in your purse or travel. Retails for $30

BoxyCharm July 2019 Review/Photos

Boxy’s theme for July was Au Naturale. How do you feel about it? I don’t feel they all fit under that theme but for the most part, I am approving of these products. Only 1 product did I not like. ๐Ÿ˜ž Elemis and Boxy put a flyer for a $10 facial at Ulta - cause my subscription boxes sit by my bed for a couple weeks being backlogged I didn't notice it until the appointments sold out. SAD PANDA!

Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Food Mask - Wheatgrass, Kale, and Nettle replenish the skin to nourish, smooth and brighten. Elemis provided its amazing night cream I raved about in the Limited Skincare Box; It makes your skin softer, smoother, more radiant. This is my second product from Elemis and I’m becoming a fan of the green(literally) company. I’m looking forward to their other products. Retails for $35

Appeal Deep Taupe Gel Liner - this liner is multi-functional as an eyeliner and lip liner. The shade is disappointing, y’all know how I feel about browns/taupes. Retails for $21
Luxie Gaea 3 Piece Brush Set - I always look forward to Luxie's brushes, each time I get one or set that they have different patterns or textures. This time the brushes have an Eco theme with handles made of pink wood in the pouch that it came in being completely recyclable - how can you not love?   Retails for $30

Butter London Natural Goddess Eye Shadow Palette - it was a pleasant surprise receiving a Butter London palette mainly because I only thought they sold nail polish. I have so many fond memories of going to Sephora over the years and testing out all of their fantastic yet expensive shades. Glad to be elevated! This pallet has six highly pigmented, long-lasting shades ranging from matte, dark brown to metallic green with shimmer. Retails for $32
Alamar Mother Of Pearl Gloss in Corazon - This gloss hydrates your lips while showing off a shimmery, smooth, shining, iridescent effect. The last item I received from this company was the blush set and I was totally unimpressed, that’s partly because I don’t use blush. This gloss is non-sticky and works alone or as a topper. Retails for $10

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus - May 2019 (My First Box)

One lucky day I logged into my Ipsy app to check what would be inside my next months Glam Bag. I had a popup that stated I was of the Glambag Plus waitlist. YASSSS! I have been trying for so many, many months just to get ON the waitlist. Only 3 months later did I get that wonderful news.

Ipsy gives you the option to keep its Glambag of mini products for $10 or choose Glambag Plus for $25, which includes FULL SIZE products. You also get the choice to pick both. I went with...BOTH!!! For the time being, I enjoy collecting the Glam Bags, but I am growing tired of non-full sized products.

Go To Face Hero - Face oils have been rising up in popularity; however, it's a product I don't know much about. I generally stay away from oils (even coconut, now) due to the way it makes my face feel...greasy. The 1st day I used Face Hero I applied 10 drops. Too many! 2nd time, I applied 3-4 drops after my moisturizer and that was the perfect combo. My skin was brightened, hydrated all night and no greasy feeling. Time will tell if it revives my complexion. I appreciate how they use natural ingredients though. Retails for $34

Il Makiage Icon High Mascara - Il Makiage is a brand I've recently seen over Facebook ads. While now I have only tried the mascara, it's pretty epic. It drove me crazy when my regular Ipsy Glam Bag kept sending me mascara's I did not want. Today - I can say...I WANT! This mascara is fantastic. You wouldn't know by looking at the wand; it deceives you in a good way. It claims to curl and fan your lashes. While my lashes only curled a little that is more on me and the straight as board lashes of mine. They sell it in 3 colors: black, brown and blue. Blue? Yas, I approve! You can tell below with  my silly picture below, on the right is bare lashes and has the mascara. Retails for $25

Illamasqua Lip Coloring Pencil Due in Lust and Media - Illamasqua lip pencils surprised me. If you look at them closely, you can see how old school the pencil is. It's been ages since I've seen one of the original wood pencils. But I'm not judging yet; it doesn't prevent the company's quality. Illamasqua is a really fantastic, high-end brand. I fell in love with their liners after watching Xsparkage's Cheshire Cat makeup tutorial 6-8 years ago. I still never found that color, FYI. If you know the color, drop a note! ๐Ÿ˜ I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my Glam Bag Plus and they provided BOTH liners. Usually, with Ipsy you only get 1 in the box. Lust is pink-ish coral and Media is lighter cranberry shade. Retails for $21 each

Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow - Don't judge a book by its cover, applies here. When I read all about this primer and how it helps blur, correct, enhance your makeup and basically help you look flawless - I was not a believer. I tested it on my hand and there was no glow or color to it. It was like a basic primer on bare skin. However, in the end, the result was stellar. When I wear powder foundation during the week to work, it's kinda basic. Adding this primer before applying my foundation I can definitely tell the difference. My skin appeared even and less red with a little glow. I'm on board! Retails for $35

Wander Beauty Wanderess Seascape Palette - This palette has 6 shades total including 1 matte and 5 foils/shimmers. The shades are buttery and blend well. The color payoff is impressive; I am looking forward to playing with this palette. Retails for $25

BoxyCharm April FOMO 2019 - My First Month!

I heard of BoxyCharm in passing over the past year, but it wasn't until my coworker raved about it. $21 a month for 4-5 full size products of quality brands. The box is also worth over $100! Every since I joined FabFitFun last year, I'm losing interest in my subscription boxes with mini products. #sorrynotsorry

April's box sold out and what they offered was a FOMO box (Fear of Missing Out). I appreciate that they have a backup plan when they sell out though. I was really impressed with my 1st box. I loved everything and only 1 item I was like "meh." Overall, I'm thrilled. However, I will say whoever handles they're social media...needs a lesson. They don't respond to customers. To me - it seems the pages are only there to promote the business. And in this day and age? Pointless. Customer service is everythang!

Luxie's Luminous Brush Eye Set - A set of 4 gold and glittery brushes for your eyes. Luxie seems to be the brand of choice of subscription boxes, but these are absolutely gorgeous. Retails for $30

Tatcha Dewy Face Mask - This set of 2 face masks are extreme high quality in skin care. Opening the package, it oozed out serum and I could feel the difference on my face. They are a more expensive product but your skin will know and thank you. Retails for $24

Suva's Protege Palette - Suva is a brand I'm not familiar with but I enjoyed the warm and cool toned pallet for work. The color payout is there with matte and shimmers. I'll be keeping an eye out for this company in the future. They also include 2 beautiful highlighters: 1 classic and 1 springy.  Retails for $34

Tarte's Tarteist Shimmering Lip Paint in Strike Gold - This gloss didn't photograph well, but you can still tell its a sheer gloss with high shine, gold tint and iridescent glitters. This shade pairs amazing with my Lime Crime gold Velvetine. Retails for $20

English Laundry No. 7 - This scent originally for men was changed into perfume for women. This item is the only one I'm not a fan of. Perfumes are a product I'm very picky with...well if you know me then you know I'm have standards with pretty much everything. I won't apologize! ๐Ÿ˜‹ It has a mix of fruit and sandalwood for a aroma that gives me a headache. Full bottle retails for $90
