Epic Fail Series: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Havana & Moscow

I'm bringing this series back from the DEAD! 

I have a few pinks and deep reds in the matte creams and they are nothing short of fantastic. When I passed theses at Ulta I knew they were a MUST.

 Major fail!!!! Both give horrible coverage and require a lip liner, and even then I wasn't happy with outcome. (see photos below). Sorry NYX, I basically love everything you put out but not this time...

Epic Fail Series: Gossip Girl's Jenny

I'm baaaaaaaaack! It's time to bring out my series I started over a year ago. I came across a couple pictures...and was like oh lets do this.

I used to be a Gossip Girl fan. The show used to be really good. USED TO BE. Lets be honest its teen crap. Just kill Serena already. Anywhoooo, I'm off topic. Remember sweet little Jenny? She was adorable, look below. Then look further....scary! Well she quit the show awhile back to play in a band. Which is fine cause I couldn't look at her raccoon eyes anymore. Didn't that fad die years ago? 

Taylor Momsen's makeup is something I can't stand to look at. He raccoon eyes over the years have gotten worse. She starting moving into the Gothic scene, which is good for her. I enjoy goth too...but no need to look like a hooker girl!

I was watching the finale of Gossip Girl, yes I know I'm prolly too old for that show. It's not even that good anymore. But anyways...

I started getting annoyed with Serena's earrings. These are 2 of her outfits from the episode. They are HUGE! What is going on here????

Epic Fail: Nikki Minaj

I haven't done a fail in awhile now have I?

I have tried, but I just cant get into nicki minaj. What is her deal, really? I have never seen her wear a outfit that wasn't as crazy as Gaga gets. Look below. What was SHE thinking? Some people do like her and her music. But I'm not one of them. Sorry!

The Cruella hair, the leopard leggings and dress. I'm blind!!!!!

Epic Fail: Matte Nail Polishes

 

I'm so disappointed at this epic fail. :(

I have had such a great experience with Zoya nail polish that I knew I had to try out their matte nail polish. I ordered this beautiful purple that I fell for at first sight. I applied two coats, noticing that I was having issues getting even coats. Okay, fine I must have been having a shaky hand day. The color was brilliant and I was really liking how matte was incredible different from any other finish I had. Within hours the polish was chipping off. And by the end of the night it looked like I had lost half of the polish off my nails. WTF! I was not happy at all! I chalked it up to a bad day and tried it all over. SAME THING! Ggggrrr.

Then I decide to play a little experience. One hand would remain normal and the other would get a top coat. With a top coat it defeats the purpose of having a matte color. So my choice was no matte or chipping matte. It was a lose-lose. :(

What are your experiences with matte polishes?

Epic Fail: NOTD - China Glaze's Tempest

I think the reason I bought this was because it looked like my favorite Urban Decay purple eye shadow, Ransom. I thought, 'can't go wrong.' Psh! You so can. I used 3 coats and it still came out streaking and pretty translucent. After it tried and I added a top coat, it started peeling. I applied the Crackle polish on my right hand and it got chunky for some reason. Not my nail day. :( This is a big ole pass, people!

Epic Fail: Walgreens Make-Up Remover Towelettes

 

I'm so very frustrated! Have you used Walgreen's makeup remover cloths? I surely hope not.

I go thru lots of makeup wipes and removers. But I think most of cosmetics addicts do haha. I'm always up for trying a new type/brand/model. Walgreen's had their own on sale for $3.99, instead of $5.99. I picked it early December. On the packaging it even says, "moisturizes and hydrates your skin." Umm, lies!

I used them to remove my makeup from my entire face for two days in a row. By the third day, I couldn't use them. The skin around my eyes and on my lids were so dry they actually BURNED! I didn't wear makeup for a week and assumed it was the weather and a bad a week. The following week, I tried them again. My skin started burning again, turned red and even was flaking. I was pissed!

It took weeks of heavy duty moisturising my skin to bring it back to normal.

Epic Fail: Hannah Montana

My eyes are burning!!!

For some reason I have been watching Hannah Montana on my Netflix streaming. Crazy, I know. I usually love her outfits (as Hannah Montana, not Miley). But when I saw this, my first thought was, "my eeeeeeeeyyyyyeeeeesssssss!" I'm all for color and crazy style, obviously but what the hell was her stylist thinking? There is way too much going on. If she lost the pink gloves and the belt, I could go with it. But uck, seriously. I just don't know why this outfit was choose. 

Which is why this is so an EPIC FAIL! hahaha.

Epic Fail Series

 

The picture says it all. 

I was organzing my room yesterday, when I realized I have a handful of products that are nothing short of a fail. Hardcore fail! So this is the start of a new series all about the epic failure of makeup. I'm aiming for a weekly series, but maybe more maybe less. We'll see how it turns out.

First up is this lipgloss I got from London. I was drawn to the packaging and the color. I mean how rock star does it look. Don't you want to buy it. Ummm. DO NOT. I was uber disappointed on how this swatched. It's practically clear. Priced at 5 dollars, such a fail.
