Urban Decay - Chronic e/s

It's Urban Decay Tuesday! Okay,it's not even Tuesday anymore. That is how slacking I was this week. Work was busy busy, then I came home and slept like a rock. I am lame! But I'm focusing saving money for my own place next year. :D

Still not convinced about mattes, but maybe I will get there. Without a base it creased a bit as you can see below in one of my pics. As always I love the packaging and container UD comes in.

I'm not angry or confused. But the damn sun kept following my vision. haha.

OOTD: Gay Pride!

.

It's baaaaaaaaaaaack! OOTD, that is. I have been slacking on all my regular series and I'm attempting to get back on track.

This OOTD was from Chicago's Gay Pride Parade. This is my 5th year going and it's always a gay 'ole time. That whole weekend is like a holiday for me. We had a record this year with almost 800,000 people going. WOO!

Not even those jerk faces who slashed all the tires on the floats stopped the parade!

I ended up making my shirt, well sorta. The tank is from Dots, and I went to my local craft store and bought fabric paints. These tights can I say are the most frickin awesome thing I own. I worked them, no lie!!!!! I'm super gay, DUH!

I'll post some of the pictures later this week.

Did you go to pride???????

Shorts - Torrid $36
Tank - Dots $6
Tights - We Love Colors $15
Shoes - Payless $16

Beauty Blogs Backstage - June- An Interview with Just Nice Things

I have been getting terrible on timing my interview posting. I was great when this started. Oopsie! I interviewed Helen of Just Nice Things. Read her blog HERE and check out her interview me HERE

1.      What made you start blogging?

I have always loved to write and I was finding myself increasingly disillusioned with my job and in dire need of a hobby. At the same time, I was also buying a lot of nail varnish and really enjoying reading about it on American nail blogs. I was totally addicted to what these ladies were writing about and decided that there was a gap in the market for a UK nail blog. I then asked my friend Sheenie if she wanted to come in on the project with me. Sheenie is a very accomplished make-up artist and so together we hoped we could create an interesting blog.
2.      Where does the name come from?

When we started, back in 2009, the blog was known as Helen & Sheenie’s Nice Things. We upgraded to our domain in 2010, and decided that was a bit of a mouthful so it got shortened to Just Nice Things.

3.      How is it having 2 people run the blog instead of 1?

Great. There is always someone there to bounce ideas off and to share in the HTML headaches. Also, it means we can cover the ground twice as fast and also there is always someone who can deputise if one of us is away or can’t make an event etc. It’s nice to be able to provide a change of voice and opinion as well.

4.      What's your favorite thing to blog about?

Nail varnish. New collections, especially the OPI ones – they get me really excited as OPI really was my first love.

5.      How do you spend your free time?

What free time? In between working a 12 hour day, blogging for a couple of hours a day and then painting my nails, it doesn’t really leave a lot of free time. But I do love to cook, watch films with my husband and I am something of a Twitter addict (@HelenNiceThings)

6.      What 3 products do you bring on a desserted island?

Suncream, TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream (the best hair product ever) and OPI Pompeii Purple nail varnish to keep my toenails perfectly polished.

7.      Vampires or faeries?

Vampires. Although not on my tv – enough already.

NOTD: Purple Glitter Fail

Forever 21 sells nail polish for $2.80 and I have had some good ones in the past. When I found this color I snatched it so fast. Looking at it in the bottle, it screamed I'm pretty! I applied 2 coat and boy did it come out spotty. It was nearly impossible to get an even coat. Sad panda! :(

NOTD: Ulta Polish in Pinata Yada Yada

I haven't been to Ulta in what seems ages. I decided to do some shopping on my lunch last week. I love the Ulta downtown Chicago. The State street location has 3 floors. 3 FLOORS!!!! And the best Ulta salon I have everrrrr been too.

Pinata Yada Yada - is a clear coat with fun, random confetti specks. This color scream party. I love it!

Urban Decay - Jones Eye Shadow

I finally have taken advantage of Haute Look's Urban Decay sale! They listed some shadows at $5...a frickin STEAL! I bought 4 of them. They original sell at $17, so if you are a fan of UD you know where I'm coming from.

Jones is shimmery peachy-orange color. Like all of UD's shadows, it's smooth and easily blendable. I bought this at a great time for summer. It's a gorgeous golden tone for the season.
