NOTD: Zoya in Robyn

in natural light

Zoya had this amazing Facebook sale a couple weeks ago. Where you get 3 bottles of nail polish for free, and only pay for the shipping. I said FREEEEEEE! That's $21 in saving. Not too shabby, huh?

This is such a gorgeous color! Named Robyn, which fits the color greatly. The first coat was a little streaky, but the second top it perfectly. It didn't even need a top coat, the shine was instant.

I went out to the suburbs with my friend. It's almost like adventure. Maybe its the 1 hour drive, idk. We went out to a few bars by my hometown, and a nightclub I haven't been to in years.

I decided to throw together purple and black only. Can I say how much I love these tights from We Love Colors? I have 7 different colors, and I want every single one! :)

Shall: Forever 21 - $18
Tights: We Love Colors - $15

Forever 21 Mini Haul

I went into Forever 21 last week and picked up a few things. I spent under $10 for everything. I was thrilled. My favorite item is the cupcake necklace. I've been looking for an inexpensive one. How cute! Feather earrings are another trend I love.

Katy Perry's California Gurls Inspired Hair

I was flipping thru my Sephora catalog and I saw a picture of Katy Perry with her purple-ish hair. Have you seen her California Gurls music video? She has this slightly tacky light lavender wig on. I love it! When I visited my favorite shop in Wicker Park, I fell for this purple wig. To top it off it only cost $15. SCORE! Obviously its synthetic hair, which is not a problem for me. I mean its not natural anyway. haha.

The Spice House

I almost started a new series called 'wicked finds'. Do I need another series? Maybe not. hehe.

Anyways, I last week I did a massive market run hitting organic markets for fruit and veggies. After I went to this little spice shop my mom loves for some homemade spices. Well, homemade by this store at least. As I did my browsing I realized how familiar this place was...because I went on a filed trip there 5 years ago! I found that too funny. But The Spice House in downtown Evanston (only a mile from me) has a great selection.

My favorite besides the hospitality of the employees is they have created their own spices and named them after neighborhoods of Chicago. LOVE!

If your in Evanston, you should really check this place out!

What I picked up:
Finely Ground Nutmeg - yum. you know you like it.

Powdered Mushrooms - sounds scary, but I'm thinking great for soup
Chocolate Extract - great for low calorie coffee.

Cheddar Cheese Powder - hello, popcorn topping.

Tomato Powder - soup!

Chipotle Chili Powder - I've been looking for this for the longest time. I love chipotle sauce, but its so high in calories and fat, and now I can make my own version. SCORE!

Pure Maple Sugar - so much better than sugar and sweeter. It's a must for oatmeal.

Freeze Dried Corn - such a great tasty snack! it's perfect for trail mix and low in calories and fat

Product of the Week: Lola's Wigs

This is my second post for Product of the Week, and its a little different. I'm not raving about a certain brand and specific product in that brand. I've been watching a lot of Hannah Montana lately. Don't judge! haha. I don't know why but I'm really addicted to that show. I love the music and some of the costumes.

Emily Osment, plays Lily and Lola on the show. Lola is her way of dressing up and hiding the fact she is Hannah Montana's best friend. Lola is always decked out in these bright, colorful wigs. I love them to death!!!! And just to clarify, I was into wigs before I started watching the show. Promise! She reminds me a little bit of a real life Japanese cartoon. I look forward to another crazy wig every episode.

The pictures below are screen shots I took, so they might look a bit hazy. But you get the point! Those wigs are not for everyone on a daily basis, but for me I effen love them!!!!

Which is your favorite?

P.S. do you like my banner I made at the top? I just got GIMP for Mac. :)

Sleek(ness)!

This is my last item from London, I swear. I was saving the best for last. I've been wanting to try Sleek makeup for months now and I was so excited to grab the last palette at Super Drug! The colors are gorgeous, mostly bright and a few smokey. All colors that scream RACHAEL! That's my name, btw. :P haha.

The price of $10 is a good deal for all these colors. Unfortunately not all the colors have great payoff. Like the white and hot green barely show up and that was a great disappointment. :( I can't explain, but I cannot stand the pattern on the eye shadows. It bothers me for some reason. I really like a flat palette I guess. This product has more goodies, than flaws for sure. Some of the colors did swatch out light, but I think with a white base they will be absolutely wild.

Rating: 8/10

NOTD: Viva Las Vegas!

I love everything Vegas related. I would have to since I'm moving to Las Vegas this summer! haha. When I saw these nail decals at Sally's I had to pick them up. Not a fan of the decals, sadly. They are a little too big and starting to peel after day 2. I love the red polish, tho.

Chicago Bears

Okay, I never watch football. Seriously. I have no interest in watching a bunch of grown men throw/chase each other for a ball. But yesterday the Bears played Packers, first time in 60 years or so...And I watched! The lost, sad panda... Oh well, I had a half tray of giant jello shots and Bloody Mary's to console me. haha.

Orange and navy blue are a off beat combination, but I gave it a go.
