Ipsy Glambag - May 2019

For May's Glambag, I'm more obsessed with the bag than the products! Are you looking? It's a glitterbomb of fantasticness spring colors. As for the items inside...not super impressed this month. FLOP. The lighting made the shots not so hot 😫

MAC's Prep + Prime Natural Radiance in Radiant Yellow - When I tested it on my hand, I didn't even notice a difference between the bare parts of my skin. I had no glow nor radiance as advertised. And this is MAC! It's hard to get disappointed from them. FAIL. Retails for $42

IBY BEAUTY's Radiant Glow Highlighter in 24k Magic - This highlighter is shimmery and buttery, so you can build it up for a beautiful glow. Retails for $14

HOLA NEON's Matte Liquid Lipstick in FOMO - When I picked this product of the bag and felt the sharp edges, I rolled my eyes thinking "not another terrible lip product packaging!" But if you ignore the case, everything else is impressive. The color payout is strong and vibrant with a clear red/berry. It dries almost instantly for a clean classy look. Retails for $17

PIXI by Petra's H20 Skindrink - lightweight, skin quenching gel that moisturizes your skin. My face felt a tad oily/greasy, I just wanted to wash it off. It claims the glycerin helps bind moisture into your skin...but my skin wasn't feeling this product. Retails for $22

Naked Cosmetics' Loose Pigment in Painted Canyon #6 - Unfortunately, my photography cannot capture the true color and essence of this product. I did find Naked Cometics' pigments hard to grab how beautiful and delicate it's colors are. #6 is metallic burgundy with flecks on iridescence. Retails for $15

I'm Aaaaalive & Urban Decay's Electric Palette

I'M AAAAALIVE!!!!!!!!!! It has been months and months, which turned into over 1.5 years. GAH! I'm ashamed of my lack of inspiration. It's not that my love and/or obsession with cosmetics and the art/fashion has decreased, but every time i planned to write something...I was't feeling it. So new year (HAPPY 2015!) means new posts and new inspiration. I am promising! And trying to figure out my life as well. Ahhhh, to be an adult...right?!

On to Urban Decay's new palette....ELECTRIC.

When I walked into Sephora a couple weeks before my birthday, I stopped dead in my tracks when resting my eyes on this palette. It literally halted me in my tracks! Being on a budget for the holiday season I sadly walked away, wistfully wishing I could bring her home. Then came January, where I celebrated my birthday with friends. My awesome roommate, Megan (her real name) got me this palette. She knows that I don't do browns and nudes, that I'm all about COLOR. Bright, passionate, obsessive ELECTRIC color! One of the best birthday gifts I have gotten :)

As you can see from the photos below, the lighting was pretty terrible - but the powerful colors do manage to show through. They aren't done justice that is the truth. All colors are extremely pigmented, with the exception of Revolt. As usual, this palette is highly blendable - which is one of my favorite things about UD. I'm in love, baby...

Revolt - pure silver and metallic, shimmery but kinda transparent
Gonzo - comes off matte, but has slight glitter in the robins egg blue
Slowburn - orangey red matte color
Savage - barbie pink matte color
Fringe - very metallic turquoise with shimmers
Chaos - classic blue matte
Jilted - gorgeous fushia
Urban- metallic purple, shimmers
Freak - shimmery, lime green metallic
Thrash - lemon-lime, shimmery

Price: $49
Pros: easy to blend, pigmented color & free brush
Cons: disclaimer noting not all colors are FDA approved for your eyes
Rating: A-
RetroUrbanRainbow says: a must for color lovers!

NOTD: Hot Topic's Neon Yellow

This new blogger has me adjusting to itself a tad slow. Anyone else? I'm trying to get into the habit of catching upon my posts. I'm a month behind. So much has been going on in my life its insane.

This is the discontinued nail polish from Hot Topic. I miss this line. It was inexpensive, the brush was large and the colors are mostly matte. The new line is more expensive and the bottles are smaller. FAIL!

Brand: Hot Topic
Collection:  NONE
Color: neon yellow, matte
Name: none
Rating: C+

NOTD: NYX in Rainbow Sparkle

Theeeeeeeeeeeeeey're back!!!!

Oh, not its not Poltergeists...I promise. But that would be wicked. :D I forgot about this adorable boutique next door to my work. They have all types of accessories and are pretty decently priced. They also have this tiny stock of NYX. SOOOOOO hard to find in Chicago, btw.

They look gummy, but only because I stuck my hand on my dresser and messed it up. :(

Retail Price: $5
Sale Price: $3.50

I thought this color would turn out sheer and not much of a glitter factor. But I was wrong. NEON POWER!

Inspired Makeup from Rihanna - Who's That Chick?

I love Rihanna! Plain and simple. Well, there is nothing plain about her. haha. Her videos lately have been like being transported back into the 80's and I love it. Who's That Chick, which I dubbed as my birthday song last year, is such a great party song and even funner (yeah I know not a word) music video. I love the yellow eyes and bright pink cheeks. Mine is a little more subdue and wearable for most people, but I got the inspiration from the video. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

Epic Fail: Hannah Montana

My eyes are burning!!!

For some reason I have been watching Hannah Montana on my Netflix streaming. Crazy, I know. I usually love her outfits (as Hannah Montana, not Miley). But when I saw this, my first thought was, "my eeeeeeeeyyyyyeeeeesssssss!" I'm all for color and crazy style, obviously but what the hell was her stylist thinking? There is way too much going on. If she lost the pink gloves and the belt, I could go with it. But uck, seriously. I just don't know why this outfit was choose.

Which is why this is so an EPIC FAIL! hahaha.

What do you think?
